The Biopod DownWool Hybrid Ice Cold 180 features a layered construction that combines high-quality, RDS-certified European goose down (90/10 with a fill power of 800+ cuin), with a layer of Pure Lavalan® AlmWolle. This design protects the down from moisture and preserves its insulating qualities.

    Features:

    • Adjustable hood with Face Baffle: The heat collar conforms perfectly to the shape of the head. When it’s cold, only a small face opening remains, which minimizes heat loss around the face.
    • 3D Heat Collar: Automatically seals in the zipper area, preventing cold spots.
    • Drawstring Pocket: To prevent the drawstring from the heat collar getting in the way.
    • Internal & external pockets: For valuables and items you want to keep close.
    • Two-way auto-lock zipper: The zipper can be opened and closed from either end and from inside and outside. The auto-lock feature prevents accidental opening.
    • White zipper: Helps to locate the zipper in the dark.
    • Zipper with anti-snag design and reinforced robust strap: Makes the zipper easier to use and helps prevent catching the fabric.
    • Reinforced zipper cover: Prevents heat loss and avoids cold spots.
    • Pre-formed footbox: With multiple chambers to avoid cold spots and provide ample space for the toes.
    • Feater loops: A warming hip sack with heating element (Feater - The Feet Heater) can be added.
    • Chamber construction: Box chambers, H-shaped chambers (V-shaped), additional side wing construction, Alpine Wool layer construction on the top.
    • Integrated carbon heating element: The heating element can be operated with a standard power bank (USB connection in the inner pocket) and is washable at 30 °C
      • The heating element heats up to a maximum of 40°C for optimal comfort.
      • When in use, approximately 15-30 minutes of heating is sufficient, the sleeping bag retains the heat, providing warmth throughout the night.
      • Note: The operating time of a 5,000 mAh power bank is approximately 1.8 hours, and with a 10,000 mAh power bank, it't about 3.6 hours.
    • Anti-lip nubs on the back: To prevent the sleeping bag from sliding.
    • Includes: Sleeping bag, compression sack & storage bag.

    Care Instructions

    Washing

    • The washing instructions are located in the inner pocket of the sleeping bag.
    • The sleeping bag can be hand-washed with a down-specific detergent at a maximum of 30°C/86°F or machine-washed using the wool wash cycle. Please turn it inside out, zip it up, perform an additional rinse cycle, and do not use fabric softener.
    • Remove the item from the machine, fluff it up a bit, and run an additional spin cycle at a maximum of 600 revolutions.

    Drying

    • Dry in a tumble dryer at a maximum of 60°C/140°F, and be sure to add 2-3 tennis balls for better fluffing.
    • Please perform multiple drying cycles, and after each cycle, remove the item from the machine, shake or fluff it well, and allow it to cool down in between.
    • The dryer should be set on a timed program to ensure thorough drying of the down.
    • If a tumble dryer is not available, the sleeping bag can be placed on a laundry rack on sunny days and should be frequently shaken to allow air from above and below to circulate.

How do you know when the drying process is complete?

    • If the item still doesn't have its original thickness, you need to repeat the drying cycles until the sleeping bag feels more filled than before.
    • Depending on the water resistance of the outer material, the drying process may take varying lengths of time (at least 2 days, depending on the dryer model).
    • The down must be completely dry. If the sleeping bag is not properly dried and fluffed, there is a risk of clumping the down feathers. This could irreparably damage the sleeping bag. Damp down may have an odour, but this odour will dissipate when the sleeping bag is fully dry.

    Tip

    • Down sleeping bags should be periodically dried with tennis balls in the tumble dryer to remove excess moisture.
    • Sleeping bags should be stored open and dry in their storage bag. An old pillowcase can also serve as a suitable storage bag.
    • When packing in the compression sack, the sleeping bag should be stuffed with the foot end first, not rolled or folded.
    • Airing out a sleeping bag is preferable to washing. Hybrid sleeping bags require less frequent washing because wool naturally possesses odour-resistant and dirt-repellent properties. We recommend cleaning small external stains gently (as described above), and heavily soiled or greasy sleeping bags can be washed in a washing machine.
